Scripture Lesson:Matthew 21:1-11
Preacher: Prof. Tackmier
Description: Monday – Matthew 21:1-11 As he came to the gates of Jerusalem on the first day of Holy Week, so Jesus comes to the gates of our hearts on the first day of this new holy year. We know the events of Holy Week: his substitutionary death and life-assuring resurrection. These realities become real to us again in the church year and stir and strengthen our faith. No longer the King in his state of humiliation, but now the exalted King, reigning for eternity, he deserves the palms and praises we offer. More than that, he invites our shouts of faith: “Save us, Lord—Hosanna!” On this we pray the he come to us in his kingdom of grace and prepare us for his kingdom of glory.” Service: Regular Chapel Order Preacher: Prof. Tackmier Hymns 18 – O Lord, How Shall I Meet You 701 – Zion, at Your Shining Gates Organist Prof. Geiger
