Scripture Lesson:Matthew 22:1-14
Preacher: Prof. Kock
Description: Monday, October 12th Reading Matthew 22:1-14 It is a wonderful privilege when we get to preach that our hearers are Christians who rejoice to hear about the banquet which Jesus has provided both now and in perfect fulfillment etefrnally. But it would be dangerous to assume that the warnings of this text are historical facts which need not be applied today. The Christian cannot help rejoicing at the beautiful illustrations of grace in this text, but sinful human beings must also be reminded of the dangers of neglecting the gospel invitation. Speaker Prof. Kock Hymns CW 376 – “Jesus, Your Blood and Righteousness” St. 1-3 CW 376 – “Jesus, Your Blood and Righteousness” St. 4-6 Prayer/Day Almighty God, you invite us to trust in You for our salvation. Deal with us not in the severity of Your judgment but by the greatness of Your mercy; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
