Scripture Lesson:Luke 17:11-19
Preacher: Prof. Kock
Description: Monday - Luke 17:11-19 Of the ten lepers who were healed, only one returned to give thanks. That is shocking. Even more shocking is the fact that the one who returned to give thanks was not a Jew. He was a Samaritan. He would not have known the Old Testament promises that pointed to Jesus like the other nine did. This Samaritan returned to Jesus, not only because he was healed of his leprosy but because he saw Jesus as more than a simple healer. He saw Jesus as the true source of hope and life. By faith, we know to look to Jesus in our times of need and we know he will help—just like the ten lepers. By faith, we also see Jesus’ forgiveness as the most important gift he gives—just like the lonely leper. By faith, our hearts are moved to give thanks for the healing hand of our Savior Jesus.
