Scripture Lesson:John 10:1-10
Preacher: Professor Jon Bare
Description: Monday – John 10:1-10 In this account, Jesus doesn’t call himself the Good Shepherd. Instead, he says, “I am the door of the sheep.” Just before these verses, Jesus restored a blind man’s sight. The Pharisees interrogated the man and his family about the healing. The Pharisees already rejected Christ and were persecuting anyone who confessed Christ. After tossing the once-blind man out of the Synagogue, they verbally attacked Jesus. Jesus’ “I am” statements are the reaction to the Pharisees. Jesus is the Savior. There is no other. Jesus is the door of the sheep, and there is no other! The one who enters through this door will be saved! As shepherds under the True Shepherd, we will use the gate, preach Christ-Crucified, and love the sheep entrusted to our care. Jesus is gate-keeping shepherd with whom the sheep find direction and safety.
