Scripture Lesson:Acts 2:14a,22-32
Preacher: Daniel Schmidt
Description: Tuesday – Acts 2:14a,22-32 Peter points to the Jews in his Pentecost sermon as the people who put Jesus to death. That was true of every Jew there whether he stood shouting, “Crucify him!” before Pilate or not because every Jew’s sins nailed Jesus to the cross. The same is true for us. While it was our sins that killed Jesus, Peter quickly proclaims God’s divine plan and the impossibility of Jesus remaining dead. Quoting David’s Messianic psalm, Peter describes the joy of Jesus in his resurrection and being in the presence of God. Jesus’ joy has become our joy because he lives.
