Scripture Lesson:Numbers 11:4-6, 10-16, 24-29
Preacher: J. Krieger
Description: Reading Numbers 11:4-6, 10-16, 24-29 The story of Moses and the 70 elders who prophesied correlates well with the Gospel. Moses’ words, “I wish that all the Lord’s people were prophets and that the Lord would put his Spirit on them!” echo Jesus’ words in the gospel, “Do not stop him…No one who does a miracle in my name can in the next moment say anything bad about me, for whoever is not against us is for us.” This lesson shows us that as Jesus’ advocates, we are not interested in building ourselves up. Instead, we are always thinking of building up God’s Kingdom. Pride and jealousy of others’ gifts can get in the way of us saying with Moses, “I wish that all the Lord’s people were prophets and that the Lord would put his Spirit on them!” Speaker J.
