Scripture Lesson:Genesis 2:18–25
Preacher: N. Bruckschen
Description: Wednesday, October 6 Reading Genesis 2:18–25 “God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.” Yet, when Adam searched in vain among the animals for a suitable helper, God himself said, “It is not good for the man to be alone.” Adam stood in the middle of Paradise surrounded by blessings upon blessings which we can only begin to imagine in our sin-corrupted experience. Yet God was saving one special blessing for last—a wife, created as Adam’s perfect complement. Adam’s joy in his wife and his praise to God overflowed in a poem. This event was bigger than just Adam and Eve. When God gave Adam and Eve to each other, he instituted marriage as a blessing. . . one man. . . one woman. . . united as one. . . for life. Speaker N.
