Scripture Lesson:Romans 6:1-11
Preacher: Nate Brauer
Description: Friday, January 12th Reading Romans 6:1-11 Paul’s beautiful words describe the wonderful mystery that is true for each of us: we are baptized into Christ and his death, and thereby clothed in his righteousness. This truth was already apparent as Christ stepped from the waters: he was God’s son. And as God’s son he had a job to do: to be perfect that those who believe in him would have life. This truth has shone in each of us as it has been revealed by the Spirit, and we can’t help but rejoice at its revelation. Speaker Nate Brauer Advisor ??? Prayer Father in heaven, at the baptism of Jesus in the River Jordan you proclaimed him your beloved Son and anointed him with the Holy Spirit. Keep us who are baptized into Christ faithful in our calling as your children and make us heirs with him of everlasting life; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Psalm Psalm 2 Hymn 679–“God’s Own Child, I Gladly Say It” Order Matins, p. 236–37 NOTE: for the canticle, sing BENEDICTUS (p. 212) instead of Te Deum. Musician Henning
