Scripture Lesson:Psalm 139
Preacher: Aaron Schultz
Description: Reading: Psalm 139 A mix of emotions stirs inside the believer who hears the words of Psalm 139. Among them we come face-to face with a truth of the Almighty that’s pretty intimidating. He knows everything about me. He knows what I’ve done, and our gut reaction is fear. We want to run; we want to hide. How then can David confidently celebrate the attributes of God? It is through faith alone that David is led by the Spirit to rejoice in God’s glory, his power, his infinite knowledge, and his all-present character. It is through faith alone that he can say with confidence, “23 Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. 24 See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Finally, it is through the faith that God has created in us that we too can praise God our creator who sent his Son for our justification. Through that same faith we now follow him! Speaker: Aaron Schultz Psalm: WELS Hymnal Project – Psalm #139 - “Title if applies” Hymn: CW21 #381 – “The People Who in Darkness Walked”
