Repetition
Repetition without reflection can turn quickly into “same old, same old.” Nonetheless, from a rhetorical point of view, repetition is still the mother of learning. Repetition can aide the preacher, too.

Illustrations
The preacher always wants to deliver the message of God’s Word in such a way that the Holy Spirit is not hindered from penetrating the hearts and minds of the hearers.
