On April 18th, Pastor Bounkeo Lor accepted the call issued by the Global Hmong Committee (GHC) to fill the new position of Hmong Asia Ministry Coordinator. With Lor’s acceptance of the call, the PSI Team has a natural new partner in carrying out theological training for the Hmong people in Asia. For many years, PSI has already been working with local pastors to train Hmong men stateside. These men are eager to reach out to the Hmong people located throughout Asia. Like many of our immigrant and refugee PSI students and graduates, Lor has been traveling to his homeland for many years spreading the gospel and providing training on his own. Now, in this new position, he will represent the GHC and WELS in coordinating the training of Hmong men throughout Asia. In partnership with PSI, Lor has already worked with the PSI Team to plan and develop a curriculum and training plan appropriate to the needs in Asia. This relationship, according to Lor, is mutually beneficial. “I want to cooperate with the PSI team, to learn from the PSI Team, and to bring new insights and perspectives in doing cross-cultural ministry to the PSI Team.” His end goal is clear: “By partnering to carry out the work in Asia, we will reach more souls with the word of God through training and through work with local leaders.” The PSI Team is excited to walk with Lor as God opens doors for Hmong training in Asia. Be sure to check back for updates as this partnership develops.
