Ernst Wendland
Biography:
Ernst R. Wendland (MA, PhD—University of Wisconsin; MST—WLS) was an instructor at Lusaka Lutheran Seminary from 1968-2022. A former United Bible Societies Translation Consultant in Zambia, he still serves (since 1999) as an adjunct professor (graduate thesis supervisor/examiner) in the Department of Ancient Studies at Stellenbosch University and several other tertiary institutions. His research and writing interests include various aspects of Bible translation as well as structural, stylistic, poetic, and rhetorical studies in biblical texts and the Bantu languages of South-Central Africa. Ernst is married to Margaret, who served as an RN at Mweembezhi Lutheran Dispensary and the US Embassy in Lusaka. The Lord has blessed them with four children: Robert, Joel, Stephen. and Naomi.
