Scripture Lesson:Jeremiah 31:31-34
Preacher: David Marquardt
Description: Thursday – Jeremiah 31:31-34 With Jeremiah as he mouthpiece, the Lord describes the covenant that exists under the auspices and because of the ministry of his Son. Unlike the covenant God presented to the nation of Israel through his servant Moses, the Messianic covenant is a proclamation of pure grace, full forgiveness, and new life. Although we never lived under the Mosaic covenant as Israel did (since it was destroyed when Christ came), we and all people enjoy freedom from the curse and condemnation of the law for in Christ, God remembers our sins no more. (The speaker should be sure to understand the relationship between the Mosaic covenant and the covenant of grace.)
